Sakthivel wins title

SIVAKASI, AUG. 1. V.S. Sakthivel Pandi of Sivakasi Lions School won the title in the boys' under-9 section of the Sivakasi district schools chess championship for boys and girls (u-9 and u-7) here recently.

The results:

Boys under-9: 1. V.S. Sakthivel Pandi, 2. A.G. Keerthi; under-7: 1. M. Aravindan, 2. P. Hari Balakrishnan.

Girls' under-9: 1. K. Induja, 2. E. Sneka Preethi; under-7: 1. R. Sona, 2. Akila Bharathi.
