Missing cash: CBI shifting focus to Mysore
By Our Staff Reporter
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM,
AUG. 1
. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team probing the suspected theft of Rs. 50 lakhs from a consignment of currency that arrived at the regional office of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) here on July 27 is focussing its investigation more on Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Ltd. in Mysore where the money was packed into the iron boxes.
Meanwhile, the finger print experts of the State police who examined the iron box from which the Rs. 50 lakhs was reported "missing" are learnt to have lifted no "incriminating" prints so far. The absorbant surfaces of the wood and waste cloth that was found as substitute material in the box had made lifting prints difficult, sources said.
