CHANDIGARH, AUG 1. The State unit of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) today honoured the Punjab Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh, by bestowing the title of "Lok Nayak'' on him. The Union has also extended full support for the Chief Minister on the river waters controversy and also described him as the icon of the State's struggle for its rights. The Mann group of the BKU honoured the Capt. Amarinder Singh at a seminar organised here today to discuss the scenario that had emerged after the State Assembly passed the `Termination of Agreements Act, 2004''. . The Union national president, Bhupinder Singh Mann, said that farmers of Punjab were deeply indebted to Capt. Singh for his bold and unparalleled stance on defending the State's interests, especially the river waters' share.
