THURAIYUR, AUG. 1. Speakers at the library awareness day celebrations held at Vairichettipalayam near here recently have stressed the need to inculcate the reading habit among the younger generation to gain confidence and build their personality. The District Library Officer, A.P. Sivakumar, spoke about the steps taken by his department to convert the library movement into a mass movement. Mr. Sivakumar said that a new building was being constructed to house the Vairichettipalayam library at an outlay of Rs. 7 lakhs. There is a plan to establish IAS and IPS study centres in this building shortly to coach aspiring candidates for UPSC and other competitive examinations.
