KOCHI, AUG. 1. Classes at the Kerala Government School of Nursing have been suspended till August 8 for repair work on the school building. The kitchen area of the school building had crumbled on Friday night. Engineers from the Public Works Department visited the building today along with the Minister of Fisheries and Excise, K.V. Thomas, and the District Collector, A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish. The dilapidated building of the school of nursing will also have a new block soon. A project worth Rs.14 lakhs for the school would start taking shape within the next two months, according the District Collector. The new block would help the school of nursing to get approval from the Nursing Council of India for its recognition. Classes would be started as soon as the repairs were completed. According to the District Medical Officer, M.K. Sushama, the whole school building needs to be rebuilt.
