Pankaj Advani has it easy
CARLOW (IRELAND),
AUG. 2.
Pankaj Advani led the Indian onslaught with a clinical 4-0 victory over John Loh El Long of Malaysia, his sixth league win, in the IBSF World under-21 snooker championship here on Sunday.
Advani had modest breaks of 46 and 47 but it was enough to subdue the group `D' top seed Long.
The other Indians, Sourav Kothari and Aditya Mehta, after having lost three opening league matches, gave themselves an outside chance to make it to the last 32 from their respective groups.
Sourav had breaks of 54, 46, 51 as he defeated Dutchman Ole Van Ham 4-1, while Mehta made a strong statement with 65-39, 106-0, 41-54, 69-26, 74-41 defeat of France's Jerome Anglade.
The results (league):
Group D: Pankaj Advani bt John Loh El Long (Mal) 4-0 (69-19, 86-19, 73-48, 76-19).
Group E: Sourav Kothari bt Ole Van Ham (Ned) 4-1 (97-17, 64-38, 92-9, 49-77, 80-20).
