HYDERABAD, AUG. 2. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi has urged all like-minded people and organisations to work collectively for the creation of a separate Telangana State and thwart the efforts of those seeking to scuttle the process. In a press statement issued here on Monday, TRS leaders -- Minister for Civil Supplies, G.Rama Rao, party's Chief Coordinator, K.Yadagiri Reddy, and others -- said certain forces were trying to create confusion by levelling `baseless' charges against the pro-Telangana party.
No `differences'
They clarified that there were no differences between the People's War emissary, Varavara Rao, and the Union Minister and TRS chief, K. Chandrasekhar, Rao and hastened to add that all those who were fighting for a separate State were `friends.' By levelling personal allegations against Mr. Rao, an attempt was being made to damage the movement for Telangana. In order to fulfil the aspirations of Telangana people, everybody should fight together. The TRS had reacted strongly to PW allegations only to safeguard the party's interest and wanted Mr. Varavara Rao to prove the charges against Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao. They saw a conspiracy behind the move to besmirch the party and its leader. Defending the TRS decision to join the Union and State Cabinets, they said it was only a part of their overall strategy to attain the goal of Telangana.
CPI flayed
In another press release issued today, the TRS chief coordinator, Sirikonda Madhusudhana Chary, flayed the CPI secretary, Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, for demanding an apology from the TRS chief. Mr. Chary said the TRS had all along urged the Left parties to join hands to achieve a separate State.
