This Day That Age
The Government of India have decided to create a separate Department of Atomic Energy under the direct charge of Prime Minister Nehru, a press note issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs announced in New Delhi on August 2. Dr. H.J. Bhabha, Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, will function as the Secretary of the new department. The department will be located in Bombay and will take over from the Union Ministry of Natural Resources and Scientific Research all business connected with atomic energy. Arrangements are being made to transfer the necessary personnel from Delhi to Bombay.
