Praveenlal wins title

SIVAKASI, AUG. 3. Praveenlal won the men's singles title defeating R. Vignesh of R. R. Nagar 12-5, 15-10, 15-4 in the final of the Virudhunagar District Badminton championship conducted by the Virudhunagar District Badminton Association at the A.J. Indoor Stadium here on Sunday.

G. Daniel Lawrence of Y.R.T.V. Matriculation Higher Secondary School won the boys under-16 singles title defeating I. Saravanakumar of the same school 15-6, 15-3.

The following have qualified to represent Virduhunagar District in the Tamil Nadu State Senior badminton championship to be held at Tiruppur from Aug. 11 to 15.

Praveenlal, S. Arun, C. Babu Shankar (all from Sivakasi), R.Vignesh, J.Rajaogpal (both from R.R.Nagar) and G.Ramasamy (Sattur).
