CUDDAPAH, AUG. 3. People's War naxalites will never give up arms, whatever the circumstances, the Guvvalacheruvu dalam leaders, Satyam and Lakshmi, said on Monday. The two led a torch rally amidst chanting of revolutionary songs and inaugurated a stupam at Guntimadugu in Rayachoti mandal on Monday night. Addressing a gram sabha, the dalam leaders spoke of the Government's stand on holding talks if the PW cadre gave up arms and maintained that possession of arms would not impede the talks. They alleged that the Government machinery was plotting to counter the PW if it gave up arms.
`People not afraid'
They said the police had staged an armed flag-march in Sakibanda, Gottiveedu and other villages a day after the PW had unveiled a stupam in memory of `martyrs' in Madhavam, adding that people did not fear their arms. The arms were dear to them, they said, and added that they would build a "socialist society" through armed struggles. They accused the Government of delaying talks fearing that naxals would take landlords to task in the villages, and demanded the distribution of their lands and temple lands to the landless rural poor.
