Decision today on plea to shift Soren
JAMTARA (JHARKHAND),
AUG. 3.
The shifting of former Union Coal Minister Shibu Soren from a camp jail here to the Hazaribag Central Jail would be decided tomorrow after the prosecution sought time till tomorrow for argument before the District and Sessions Court today.
The prosecution had sought the court's permission to shift Mr. Soren to Hazaribag after he was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days yesterday.
Mr. Soren turned himself in before the court yesterday after he was denied bail in a case of massacre at Chirrudih in 1975.
He has been lodged in a make-shift jail.
Defence counsel, who filed a rejoinder this morning, completed its argument pleading before the Sessions Court that
Mr. Soren desired to stay at the camp jail as he was indisposed.
