BANGALORE, AUG. 3. The Minister for Public Works and Power, H.D. Revanna, told the Legislative Council today that the State Government was trying to regularise over two lakh unauthorised irrigation pumpsets in the State. Replying to a debate on the continuation of the "Own-your-transformer" scheme, the Minister said the Government was contemplating regularising unauthorised pumpsets. He said 3,323 pumpsets would be energised under the scheme.
Surpur monuments
The Water Resources Minister, M. Mallikarjuna Kharge, assured Umashree and Dr. Tanga that the State Department of Archaeology and the Gulbarga Zilla Panchayat would take up preservation of monuments such as the Ramalingeswara Temple with which Jedara Dasimayya, a Vachanakara was associated.
