Vinod bags two gold medals

MADURAI, AUG.4. A.Vinod of American College Higher Secondary School won two gold medals in the boys Super Senior section of the monthly district schools Athletic meet conducted by Madurai unit of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu at MGR Race Course stadium here on Wednesday.

The results (All winners):

Boys (Super-Seniors): 100m: A.Vinod (ACHSS); 1500m: R.Muthu Vijayan (ACHSS); Long jump: A.Vinod; High jump: S.Raja (Govt. HSS, Melur). Shotput: V.Kumaraguru(ACHSS).

Seniors: 100m: M.Nagaraj (MNUJHSS); 800m: A.Dinesh Kumar (ACHSS); Long jump: T.Kannan (Keran MHSS, Checkamurani); High jump: M.Raja Mohamed (Govt. HSS, Melur); Shotput: E.Durai Raj (ACHSS).

Juniors: 100m: V.Anburajan (MVM HSS); Long jump: R.Marnad (MNUJHSS); High jump: R.Marnad; Shotput: S.Udayakumar (Keran MHSS).

Sub juniors: 100m: Akkini Rajan (ACHSS); Long jump: Akkini Rajan; Shotput: A.Meyyappan (Govt. HSS, Samayanallur).

Girls(Super Seniors): Long jump: S.Shajitha (Kendriya Vidyalaya); High jump: V.Deva Priya (St.Joseph's HSS); Shotput: A.Syed Sultana (St.Joseph's); 800m: V.Jenita (OCPM).

Seniors: 100m: S.Roma (OCPM HSS); Long jump: C.Esther Shalini (St.Joseph's); High jump: V.Preethika (Govt. HSS. Karungalakudi); Shotput: M.S.Gayathiri (St.Joseph's); 800m: R.Solaimmal (Govt. HSS, Othakadai).

Juniors: 100m: A.Ashmath Haseena (St.Joseph's); Long jump: R.Rini Cladius (Arul Malar HSS); High jump: K.Ashwini (St.Joseph's); Shotput: S.Arthi (St.Joseph's).

Sub Juniors: 100m: A.C.Sukanya (O.C.P.M); Long jump: A.C.Sukanya.

Basketball: AC Higher Secondary School 51 (Saravanan 10, Balakumar 12) bt MNU Jeyaraj Nadar Higher Secondary School 27 (M.Arunkumar 12) in the boys final and OCPM Girls Higher Secondary School 37 (T.Jenipa 10, Tamilselvi 10, Shamila Begum 10) bt St.Joseph's Girls Higher Secondary School 7 in the girls final.
