Heavy rain forecast in Telangana

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, AUG. 4. Heavy rain lashed parts of the State for the third day on Wednesday while the well-marked low pressure area moved inland partially over Orissa.

The State Met Office director, C.V.V. Bhadram, said that the system was likely to move inland fully over Orissa and weaken. However, under its influence, many places in Telangana would receive moderate to heavy rain on Thursday. Isolated heavy rain was also forecast in the districts of Khammam, Warangal, Karimnagar, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari and Krishna.

Meanwhile, the South-West monsoon turned vigorous over Telangana and active over coastal Andhra.

Dummagudem in Khammam district received a maximum rainfall of 15 cm followed by Koida 14 cm and Bhadrachalam 13 cm.
