Sanave-Jaseel run away with title

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, AUG. 4. Sanave Thomas (Central Excise) and Jaseel P. Ismail (IOC) won the men's doubles title in the 20th TKV memorial all-Kerala ranking badminton tournament here on Tuesday.

Sanave and Jaseel had little difficulty in getting past K.A. Aneesh (Central Excise) and George Thomas (BPCL) 15-2, 15-9 in the final.

K.J. Roy of Ernakulam won the veteran's singles title with a 15-5, 15-10 win over S. Joy of Thiruvananthapuram.

Ravishankar and Jayakumar won the doubles title in veteran's category defeating K.J. Joy and Mohd. Basheer 15-8, 15-12.

At the closing ceremony, former State champion U. Subramoninan and D. Janardhana Prabhu were honoured for their contribution to the game.

Kerala Sports Council president, C. Mohana Chandran, gave away the prizes.
