ADILABAD, AUG. 4. Homoeo drug, Belladonna, will be distributed among children below 14 years in all schools, private clinics and anganwadi centres in the district on August 6. The exercise will be repeated on August 15 and 29 as part of the steps to check the spread of encephalitis. The district Medical and Health Department is fully geared up to meet any contingencies during the epidemic season. According to the DM&HO, M. Kesava Rao, additional stock of the medicine is being requisitioned though the supply is adequate. The department is paying more attention to Asifabad sub-division where the incidence of epidemics is higher. Most of the viral fever cases reported from rural areas are due to unhygienic conditions. Over 170 cases of viral fever and diarrhoea have been reported from different places in the district since July 1. However, no deaths are reported due to either diarrhoea or viral fever.
