This Day That Age
The Madras Chief Minister, Mr. K. Kamaraj Nadar, and Mr. T. Manavalan, Congress candidates, were declared elected to the State Legislative Assembly from the Gudiyattam double-member constituency, for the general and reserved seats. Mr. Kamaraj Nadar had a majority of over 38,000 votes over his rival, Mr. K. Kothandaraman (Communist). The results were officially announced at Gudiyattam by the Returning Officer, Mr. P.C. Manickam.
