13 soldiers die in chopper crash

ISLAMABAD: Thirteen Pakistani soldiers including three officers were killed when a Russian-made helicopter crashed near Karak in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) on Thursday morning. On the basis of preliminary investigations, authorities believe the copter crashed due to a technical fault. According to the Director-General of Inter Services Public Relations (IPSR), Shaukat Sultan, the pilot had informed the control tower of the snag and planned an emergency landing.
