Thrissur
By Our Staff Reporter
THRISSUR, AUG. 5. The Health Minister, Kadavoor Sivadasan, has said steps will be taken to shift the Thrissur Medical College Hospital from the city to the college campus at Mulankunnathukavu at the earliest. He was speaking at a meeting of the people's representatives and officials of the Health, PWD, Water Authority and district administration, held at Mulankunnathukavu today. The Minister said a monitoring committee would be constituted under the local MLA, T.V. Chadramohan, for ensuring timely steps for shifting the hospital. However, the shifting would be in stages depending on the completion of the construction work and furnishing of each section. When his attention was drawn to the reports that the medical college would face shortage of water when the new buildings were commissioned, the Minister said arrangements would be made to supply adequate water to the institutions from Cheroor. Replying to questions, he said a new regular principal would be appointed soon at the medical college replacing the present acting principal.
