dated August 7, 1954: Chou thanks Nehru

Mr. Chou En-lai, the Chinese Premier, has told Prime Minister Nehru that the latter's efforts were undoubtedly one of the important factors which made possible the success of the Geneva Conference. Mr. Chou's remarks were contained in a message he sent on August 4 in a reply to Mr. Nehru's congratulations on the signing of the Indo-China truce. China will "closely cooperate with the Republic of India and all other nations of the world which wish for peace," Mr. Chou said in his message.
