TTD planning information centres at embassies
By Our Staff Reporter
TIRUMALA,
AUG. 6
. The management of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams plans to set up information centres at all the Indian embassies abroad, for the benefit of the devotees who wish to plan a "pilgrimage trip" to Tirumala.
Responding to a question, during a "Dial TTD Executive Officer" programme, the Tirumala-based JEO, A.V. Dharma Reddy, said the TTD had resolved to set up information centres at all State capitals and major cities in the country.
A participant, Muralidhar, from Indore, said that the people of Madhya Pradesh lacked proper information regarding the temple. He said that if the TTD assured them of an information centre at Indore, they were ready to meet the cost for setting up infrastructure facilities. Mr. Reddy asked him to send a letter furnishing details.
Speaking to mediapersons later, Mr. Reddy said that by having information centres at the embassies in countries where Indians reside in large numbers would not only help non-resident Indians but also be informative to Indians of foreign origin.
Replying to another question, Mr. Reddy said that the "tout" and "dalalis" issue was very much under control.
