HYDERABAD, AUG. 6. Byelections will be held on Saturday for ten Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTCs) and 47 Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTCs). These vacancies were caused by resignations and the death of the representatives, including those who were killed by naxalites. Seven of the ZPTC vacancies were a result of the incumbents resigning to their seats following their election to the Assembly. Of the 14 ZPTC vacancies, four have been filled without any contest following mutual agreement among political parties. They are Maidipalli ZPTC in Karimnagar district (BJP), Dichpalli in Nizamabad district (independent), Rampuram in Lakkireddipalle constituency of Cuddapah district (TDP) and Kota in Nellore (also TDP).
