Kurnool
By Our Staff Reporter
KURNOOL, AUG. 6. The Minister for Major Industries, B. Satyanarayana, has promised to make efforts for the reopening of the Rayalaseema Paper Mill here. Addressing a meeting in the industrial estate on Thursday, he said the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, had discussed with him the issue on three occasions and separate panels had been constituted to study the reason for sickness of industries in the region. Majority of industries were closed because of lack of working capital and raw material. He said the Government would act on the recommendations of the panels. Responding to the plea for development of industrial estate by sanctioning Rs. 1 crore, the Minister said the Government would sanction 50 per cent of the amount and the APSIIDC 20 per cent, if the industrialists contributed the remaining 30 per cent. The Kurnool MLA, M.A. Gafoor, and others were present.
