Exhibition on Geelani's time in prison

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, AUG. 6. After running into plenty of trouble, the controversial exhibition showcasing Syed Abdul Rehman Geelani's time in prison in connection with the Parliament attack titled "The Lies Of Our Times'' was finally displayed at Zakir Husain College here today.

Though the exhibition was to be displayed at the Department of Sociology earlier, it had been "deferred'' following pressure from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Now finally, the exhibition was showcased for the first time in Delhi University in Prof. Geelani's college itself.

Inaugurated by Planning Commission Member, Syeda Hameed, Prof. Geelani was also present at the exhibition. "The exhibition was well-attended and went off peacefully. All those who have been supporting Prof. Geelani came for it. There were a number of teachers from Delhi University as well. Prof. Geelani also addressed the gathering and there were no incidents,'' said lawyer Nandita Haksar.
