M.L.S. Prasad of Eastern Air Command defeated teammate Suthakar 15-5, 15-17, 17-15 in the men's singles final of the Air Force badminton championship at Dundigal near here on Saturday.
The results: Singles: Final: M.L.S. Prasad bt Suthakar 15-5, 5-17, 17-15. Semifinals: Suthakar bt Rajesh 15-9, 9-15, 15-3; M.L.S. Prasad bt Srinivas 15-13, 15-7.
Doubles: Final: M.L.S. Prasad/Sudhakar bt V. Datta/B.K. Tiwari 15-12, 16-17, 15-7.
Team championship: Final: Eastern Air Command bt Training Command 3-0 (Suthakar bt T.J. Wilson 15-10, 15-13; M.L.S. Prasad bt V. Datta 15-10, 15-2; M.L.S. Prasad/Suthakar w/o T.J. Wilson/V. Datta).
Third place: Western Air Command bt SWAC 3-2 (Bathia lost to P. Chawala 8-15, 7-15; R. Mallik bt Yogesh 17-15, 15-11; B.K. Das bt B.K. Tiwari 15-7, 17-14; N. Bathia/B.K. Das bt Mukul/B.K. Tiwari 15-4, 15-6; Rajesh/R. Mallik lost to Chawla/Yogesh 10-15, 7-15).
