SEBI official's home, office searched

By Our Special Correspondent

MUMBAI, AUG. 7. The Central Bureau of Investigation officials raided the residence and office chamber of the Chief General Manager of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Nagender Parakh, here today.

Sources said that a special CBI team from New Delhi conducted the search without taking any assistance from their local office.

The SEBI said in a press note that the search was in connection with an old case of alleged disproportionate assets against the official and had "nothing to do with the functioning of the SEBI."
