Double for Yuki Bhambri
NEW DELHI,
AUG. 7.
Yuki Bhambri stole the show, winning a double crown, in the Nutrine Naturo sub-junior tennis championship at the DLTA Complex here on Saturday.
Top-seeded Sweta Solanki asserted herself by clinching the under-14 title without dropping a set, while the honour in the under-12 section went to Prerna Bhambri who recovered to beat V. ARchana in three sets.
The prizes were given away by senior vice president of Nutrine Confectionery Company Limited, Mr. S.V. Venkateshwar, and the French Open junior doubles semifinalist Tushar Liberhan.
The results (finals):
Boys under-14: Singles: Yuki Bhambri bt Vinay Kamineni 6-3, 6-4; Doubles: Abhijeet Tiwari & Vinay Kamineni bt Karun Uday Singh & Ankit Sachdeva 6-3, 6-1.
Boys under-12: Yuki Bhambri bt Sumit Shinde 6-0, 6-1.
Girls under-14: Singles: Sweta Solanki bt Divija Mandava 6-4, 6-1; Doubles: Shweta Kumari & Monica Menon bt Garitma Vatwani & Gopika Kapoor 2-6, 7-5, 6-3.
Grls under-12: Prerna Bhambri bt V. Archana 3-6, 7-5, 6-2.
