Inspector, sub-inspector transferred

CHENNAI, AUG. 7. The Police Commissioner today transferred M. Rangarajan, Inspector, Law and Order, and the sub-inspector, T. Murugan, of Nungambakkam, in connection with police action against members of Students Federation of India (SFI), who staged a demonstration near the Directorate of School Education on Friday, a release said.

The Joint Commissioner, Central Zone, will conduct an enquiry into the incident and submit a report.

The SFI members, Selva and Venmathi, injured in the clash with the police, were admitted to the Government General Hospital.
