This Day That Age
American ships laden with food and machinery are on their way to Asia under an allied plan to back their proposed South-East Asian Treaty Organisation with practical help to the needy nations. The U.S. has agreed with Britain and its ANZUS allies - Australia and New Zealand - on the programme as an essential of SEATO. But American officials, believing that no time should be lost, decided to go ahead with the programme pending the opening of the final phase of the SEATO talks.
