Cloning animals

Sir, — This refers to the editorial, `Cloning wild animals', (Aug. 7). Science has made it possible for human beings to resurrect a range of extinct species but it remains doubtful whether the species cloned will be able to adapt to the immensely-changed environment.

In that case, it is cruel to force the animals to live in an environment not conducive to their survival. Therefore the question is: how far can we go against the laws of nature?

Sarika Bhagat,
Ranchi
