Isolated rain in T.N.

CHENNAI, AUG. 8. Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala, Lakshadweep and coastal Karnataka and at a few places over interior Karnataka.

Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and Telangana.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema and dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh.Munnar (Idukki dt.) recorded a heavy rainfall of 8 cm.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms are: Valparai, Puttur (Dakshina Kannada dt.) and Honavar 4 each. Karkala (Udupi dt.), Karwar and Madikeri 3 each, Denkanikottai (Dharmapuri dt.), CIAL Kochi, Mangalore Airport, Panambur, Kundapura (Udupi dt.) and Shirali 2 each and Kozhikode Airport, Cherthala (Alapuzha dt.), Kottayam, Agathi Airport, Minicoy, Mangalore, Mudibidre (Udupi dt.), Belgaum Airport and Shimoga 1 each.

FORECAST (valid until Tuesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over coastal and south interior Karnataka , Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over north interior Karnataka, north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over Kerala, coastal Karnataka and Ghat areas of Kodagu and Shimoga districts of south interior Karnataka during the next 48 hours.
