ISLAMABAD, AUG. 8. At least eight persons were killed and 50 injured in two bomb blasts that rocked Karachi this evening. According to reports from the city, the first bomb that went off was tied to a bicycled near a hotel. The second bomb at the same spot that exploded a little later was planted in a motorcycle. The impact of the explosions was so huge that the hotel was in ruins. Police who rushed to the spot said they had defused another bomb. The explosions are suspected to be the handiwork of extremists annoyed with cooperation of Pakistan with the United States. On Saturday, two persons were killed in an early morning explosion in the city. Karachi has been theatre of a number of terrorist and sectarian incidents in the last few weeks.
