BANGALORE, AUG. 8. The house of a sales executive was burgled in BEML Layout in Rajarajeshwari Nagar in Byatarayanapura Police Station limits on Saturday. The burglars took away Rs. 26,000 in cash and ornaments worth Rs. 30,000. The police said Ponnuraj (40), a sales executive with Gopal Toothpowder Company, had gone to work after locking his house in the morning. When he returned home in the night, he found the door locks broken and scattered household articles.
Two arrested
The Indiranagar police on Friday arrested two persons on charges of cheating and recovered Rs. 1.9 lakh in cash from them. The police gave the names of the arrested as Ameed Ahmed (31) of Shivajinagar and Jahir Ahmed (37) of K.G. Halli. The police said the accused had withdrawn Rs. 3.92 lakh from Indiranagar branch of ICICI Bank by producing fake cheques of the Union Bank of India's Ramanathapuram branch. The accused were arrested when they tried to encash a fake cheque again, the police said.
Burglary case
The Peenya police on Friday arrested three persons on charges of burglary and recovered two gold chains and two mobile phones. They were caught near Peenya bus stand. The police gave the names of the arrested as Manjunath (18) of Laxminarayanapura, Yatish (19) of Malleswaram, and Ananth (20) of Kamalanagar. The accused were sent to judicial custody, the police said. The Kumaraswamy police on Saturday arrested a person on charges of theft and recovered from him eight aluminium water vessels. The police gave the name of the arrested as Feroz (18) of Kumaraswamy Layout. He had allegedly stolen the vessels from Kanankapura, Ramakrishna Nagar, Ilyas Nagar and Yelachenahalli.
