No power

COIMBATORE, AUG. 8. Power supply will not be available in the following areas between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on August 10 owing to maintenance work at the Kurichi, Thudiyalur and Somanur sub-stations.

Kurichi SS: SIDCO, Podanur, Kurichi, Sundarapuram and Vellalore.

Thudiyalur SS: Thudiyalur, Chinna Thadagam, Pannimadai, Daliyur, Nanjundapuram, Madathur, Kanuvai, Appanaickenpalayam, Somayampalayam, Somayanur, Kalayanur, Palanigoundanpudur and NGGO Colony.

Somanur SS: Seyur, Karumathampatti, Somanur, Nambiampalayam, Kombakkadu, Kaniyur, Vanjipalayam, Mangalam, Pallipalayam, Semmandampalayam, Rasipalayam, Kaduvettipalayam, Paramasivampalayam, Sengathurai, Kadampadi and Thottipalayam.

Conference

A technological conference of the South India Textile Research Association will be held on August 12. It will be inaugurated by the Textile Commissioner, Subodh Kumar. Sessions on operational studies, mechanical processing and machinery development and instrumentation will be held.

Courses

The Sri Avinashilingam Training Centre will offer training to make jute bags, paper toys and in-screen printing and also certificate courses in herbal beauty therapy, embroidery, fashion designing and interior decoration.
