Cloudy sky forecast
On Sunday, Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27.6 degrees Celsius. Palam recorded a maximum of 35.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27.5 degrees Celsius. The maximum and minimum humidity recorded at Safdarjung was 86 and 63 per cent. At Palam, the maximum and minimum humidity was recorded at 89 and 59 per cent respectively.
Auto-lifter arrested

An alleged auto-lifter and his accomplice were arrested from Inter-State Bus Terminus at Anand Vihar in East Delhi on August 2. The police recovered nine motorcycles from his possession.
According to the police, the auto-lifter, Ajay Kumar, was intercepted when he was riding a stolen motorcycle. At his instance, the police arrested his accomplice, Jitender, and recovered eight other motorcycles. During interrogation, Ajay confessed to his involvement in at least five previous cases. Further investigations are on.
Three nabbed
Acting on a tip-off that some chain snatchers were active in the area, the Special Staff laid a trap and arrested three suspects, later identified as Santokh Singh, Sonu Chauhan and Man Singh. The police recovered three gold chains, a knife and two motorcycles at their instance.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in at least a dozen cases of chain and mobile phone snatching.
Four held
The accused have been identified as Nawab Mian, Shabbir, Taufiq and Dilshad. During interrogation, they disclosed that they used to steal the belongings of passengers at Inter-State Bus Terminus. At their instance, two more gangs active in stealing bags have been identified and efforts are on to arrest the gang members.
Assault charge
According to the police, they received a complaint from woman alleging that Mohammad Khalid, the Imam of Madina mosque near the Mathura Road branch of Delhi Public School, had been living with her for the past three years on promise that he would marry her. According to the complaint, the Imam allegedly established physical relationship, but did not marry her later.
Acting on the complaint, the police have registered a case and are questioning Mohammad Khalid.
