Letters to the Editor
Sir, This refers to the report, `Manipur situation volatile' (Aug. 9). It is sad that the Centre is not keen on addressing the sentiments of the State's people. The call for a total shutdown is not needed. A holistic approach must be adopted in the matter.
Akhil Kumar,
Sir, That a group of Manipuri women stripped naked last month to register their protest reveals how much the people's sentiments have been affected. It is time the Centre takes steps to redress grievances.
R. Ponnarassi,
Sir, The Defence Minister, Pranab Mukherjee's statement (Aug. 8) that there "was no question of thinking or rethinking on withdrawing the Armed Forces Special Powers Act from Manipur" is not the solution.
Soibam Gokulchandra Singh,
