Narain finishes tenth
CHENNAI,
AUG. 9.
Narain Karthikeyan finished 10th in race one and sixth in race two in the fifth round of the Nissan World Series championship at Lausitz (Germany) on Sunday.
The Tata RC Motorsport driver encountered problems from the start in the first race. A misunderstanding with French driver Olivier Pla saw Karthikeyan go off the road. "It was nobody's fault, but it ruined my race," said the driver from Coimbatore, after recovering enough to earn a point.
In the second race, Pla and Karthikeyan collided going into the first corner. The impact damaged Karthikeyan's steering. "Thereafter I had a lot of under steer turning right. But I concentrated on finishing the race," he said.
The Indian driver, who is supported by the Tata Group, JK Tyre, Speed and Red Bull, is sixth in the overall points table with eight more races to go.
The next round is at Estoril in Portugal on September 19.
