Airtel expands network
COIMBATORE: Airtel, cellular service provider has launched its services in seven more towns from today by commissioning cell sites in Gudiyattam, Pallikonda, Poigai near Ambur (in Vellore region), Tiruttani (Tiruvallur District), Omalur and Mecheri (in Salem districts). The Chief Operating Officer, Bharti Cellular, Ramgopal Vallath, said now Airtel was present in 160 towns with 460 cell sites. The cell site at Tiruttani would provide a seamless coverage on the Chennai - Tirupati route. The addition of seven new towns on Monday was part of an ongoing aggressive network expansion drive in the rest of Tamil Nadu circle, he added.
