BANGALORE, AUG. 9. Chaos prevailed on many roads in the city on Monday and the public were put to hardship as members of the Kannada film industry took out a procession. Another procession taken out by the Karnataka Milk Producers Federation worsened the traffic woes. Further, a BMTC bus, which had broken down on J.C. Road, compounded the problem. Vehicular movement was hit on J.C. Road, N.R. Road, Kempegowda Road, Seshadri Road, Mission Road, Kasturba Road, Nrupathunga Road and Lalbagh Road from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Not only the motorists but also the BMTC bus commuters were put to hardship. The worst affected were the commuters of the BMTC buses as drivers avoided the crowded areas. Many buses bound for Kempegowda bus terminus did not pass through the Town Hall, Banappa Park and State Bank of Mysore bus stops. Many people were found stranded at these bus stops. Though police had made alternative arrangements by allowing two-way traffic on one-ways, it was of little use. Motorists proceeding towards Vidhana Soudha and Mahatma Gandhi Road from Minerva Circle avoided J.C. Road and took a detour through Kengal Hanumanthaiah Road and Richmond Circle. Traffic was also hit as thousands of passersby stopped all along the procession route to have a glimpse at the film stars.
