Tourist train service next year
AGRA,
AUG. 10.
Karnataka Tourism's prestigious Rs. 32-crore luxury tourist train will begin service in September 2005, providing a seven-day package covering major tourism spots linking Bangalore and Goa.
The State Tourism Commissioner, Mahendra Jain, said here on the sidelines of the 20th Convention of the Indian Association of Tour Operators, that the train's 18 coaches would be made available to the Tourism Department by the Indian Railways within three months.
Similar to Rajasthan's ``Palace on Wheels,'' The train will take 120 tourists once every week from Bangalore to Mysore, Hassan, Belur, Halebeed, Shravanabelagola, Hospet, Hampi, Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary, Goa and back to Bangalore. UNI
