Venkatraghavan appointed director of umpires, referees

MUMBAI,
AUG. 10.
Former India captain and International Cricket Council (ICC) panel umpire and match referee, S. Venkatraghavan, 58, has been appointed director of umpires and referees by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Venkatraghavan has played 57 Tests (156 wickets) and 15 one-day Internationals (five wickets) and has officiated in 73 Tests and 52 ODIs.
He stepped down from the ICC Panel of umpires after the South Africa-West Indies Test match at centurion Park in January 2004.
