Prabhu shines

CHENNAI, AUG. 10. A 73-run fifth-wicket stand between M. Prabhu (47) and Hariraj (37) enabled V. Pattabhiraman XI, opting to bat, make 241 against S. Sriraman XI on the opening day of their two-day Sumeru Soft-TNCA under-19 round-robin cricket match at the SRMC-turf ground on Tuesday.

In the other match at MCC (Tambaram), C.R. Rangachari XI, put in, finished at 272 for nine in the allotted 90 overs against A.G. Kripal Singh XI.

The scores:

V. Pattabhiraman XI 241 in 88.2 overs (R. Prashanth 33, M. Prabhu 47, Hariraj 37, K. Anand three for 33) v S. Sriraman XI.

C.R. Rangachari XI 272 for nine in 90 overs (Ra. Aravind 48, A.K. Sathish 40, D. Lakshminarayanan 67) v A.G. Kripal Singh XI.
