THRISSUR, AUG. 10. The Kathakali maestro, Kavungal Chathunni Panicker, has been selected for the Pattikkanthodi Ravunni Menon Award. The award consists of a purse of Rs. 5,000 and a citation. The jury comprised Keezhpadam Kumaran Nair, Kalamandalam Ramankutty Nair, Padmanabhan Nair, Killimangalam Vasudevan Namboodiripad, M. P. S. Namboodiri, Balachandran Vadakkedath, Kalamandalam John and K. B. Rajanand. The award will be presented at a function at Kerala Kalamandalam at Cheruthuruthy, near here, on September 18, says a press release.
