Gulbarga
By Our Special Correspondent
GULBARGA, AUG. 10. Members of the All India Mahila Samskrutika Sanghatane (AIMSS) on Tuesday staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office demanding that employment avenues be provided for the educated and uneducated women in Gulbarga district. The women, led by the President of the Sanghatane, Nagammal, presented a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner on the difficulties being faced by women in the absence of employment avenues. The memorandum demanded that the Government set up employment-generating industries to enable the women to lead a decent life. The Sanghatane wanted the Government to issue directions to its departments not to use machinery in employment-generating works implemented by them and provide more employment opportunities to construction labourers deprived of their share of work.
