IT competition organised
In the secondary section, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's team from Chandigarh comprising Abhayjeet and Rishabh Gupta bagged the first prize, while Apeejay Noida stood second. In the senior level debate, Bhavan's Mehta Vidyalaya's Riju Bafna got the first position while the second prize was bagged by Tirat of Amity International, Saket. The chief guest of the function, executive chairman of Xansa (India) Limited, Saurabh Srivastava, handed over the prizes.
Camp for Urs pilgrims opened
The camp -- organised by the Delhi Government -- has all facilities including water, electricity, health care, computerised railway reservation counters and post offices. "Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti was a great Sufi saint who represented a composite culture. His teachings were not confined to a particular religion, time or caste. His teachings helped in bringing different communities together and are even relevant today," said Mr. Joshi. The Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit, presided over the function which was attended by the Development Minister, Raj Kumar Chauhan, the Transport Minister, Haroon Yusuf, and the East Delhi MP, Sandeep Dikshit.
Music for health
The Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said: "While great advances have been made in healthcare and medicine in India, still many are deprived of the benefits of these advanced medical facilities because of the huge population." Leading classical vocalist Jayprakash, who is one of the exponents of meditational music, performed at the concert.
Free eye check-up camp
The Delhi unit general secretary of the Samajwadi Party, Surjeet Singh Kasana, inaugurated the camp. Tarun Mitra Parishad president, Ashok Jain, said the medical team of St. Stephen's Hospital screened 328 eye patients including school children who were administered medicines free of cost.
