Partly cloudy

CHENNAI, AUG. 10. On Wednesday the sky will be partly cloudy with a possibility of a shower or thundershower in some areas during evening or night.

On Tuesday, Nungambakkam recorded a maximum of 38.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27. 6 while Meenambakkam recorded a maximum of 38.3 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27.1. The humidity was 73 and 75 per cent.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended in parts of Royapuram, MKB Nagar, Park Town, Ayanavaram and ICF areas on Thursday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for maintenance work

Special trains

Special trains will be operated between Chennai Central and Bangalore to clear extra rush of passengers.

The train no 0685 Chennai Central-Bangalore will leave Central at 11.20 p.m. on August 15, 22, and 29 and September 5 and reach Bangalore at 7.35 a.m. the next day. The train no 0686 Bangalore-Chennai Central will leave Bangalore at 11.30 p.m. on August 14, 21, and 28 and September 4 and reach Central at 8.05 a.m.

The train will have one AC two-tier, nine second sleeper, four general second class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches.
