CHENNAI, AUG. 10 . The Tiruchi Police Commissioner will have a new office. The Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, made this announcement at the police conference at the Secretariat here. Eight inspectors (crime) with supporting personnel 24 SIs, 48 head constables and 120 constables will be sanctioned for the city police. Also, an intelligence wing will be set up under an Assistant Commissioner. She announced the upgradation of the Manikandam outpost in Tiruchi city as a regular police station, building a new office for the range DIG and sanctioning of a shorthand bureau, a finger print bureau and a video section.
