GUWAHATI, AUG. 11. Nirmalendu Langthasa, abducted son of the Assam Hill Areas Development Minister, G.C. Langthsa, today reached the official residence of the Minister after being released by the banned United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) after 105 days of captivity of the outfit. The State Home Commissioner, B.K. Gohain, told The Hindu that the Minister's son reached home safely but family members and police declined to say where he was released by the outfit. Nirmalendu and his friends, Sanju Phangsu and Phenthensom Teron, were kidnapped on April 27. However, the latter were released the next day. The ULFA warned that Nirmalendu would be not be released till the India and Bhutan divulged information on the whereabouts of seven of its senior leaders who went missing.
