This Day That Age
Mr. Georgi Malenkov, the Soviet Prime Minister, dined at the British Embassy in Moscow on August 11 and discussed world politics with Mr. Clement Attlee and other British Labour leaders. It was the first visit of a Soviet Premier to the Embassy since Stalin conferred with Mr. Churchill there during the war. With Mr. Malenkov around the British Embassy dining table were many other Soviet leaders, including Mr. Nikita Khrushchev, Communist Party Secretary, and Mr. Molotov, the Foreign Minister. After the dinner, the Soviet leaders and the British delegation of eight split up into small groups in the Embassy's richly decorated "White Room" to discuss world affairs.
