Monsoon forecasting

Sir, — The article by N. Gopal Raj, `Improving monsoon forecasting' (Aug. 11), gives a clear picture of the models used for monsoon forecasting.

Technological improvement in the methods of monsoon forecasting is important in a country like India which has erratic rainfall.
